Most Beautiful Places in the US
Grand Prismatic Spring, Wyoming (Yellowstone Park)
Hot springs are always a beautiful destination, but this one is out of the ordinary. This hot spring looks like a rainbow! It’s the most photographed thermal feature inside of Yellowstone. Although you can’t go swimming in it, it’s a beautiful sight.
Haiku Stairs of Oahu, Hawaii
Hawaii alone is one of the most beautiful places in the US. This stairway to heaven is on another level (literally). If you can hike almost 4,000 steps to the top, you’ll be presented with one of the most magnificent views in the world.
Lake Tahoe, California
A gorgeous, serene lake lies on the border of California and Nevada. It’s an exciting adventure for both winter and summer travels. It has incredible blue water and viewpoints.
Havasu Falls, Arizona
Havasu Falls is one of America’s best locations. This incredible waterfall is located in the Grand Canyon on the Havasupai Indian Reservation. The blue-green waters are breathtaking. Although it’s an 8-mile trek to get there, the beauty is well worth it. You can travel the trail by foot or by horse. There are also other beautiful waterfalls on the reservation.
Nā Pali Coast State Park, Hawaii
Surprise – another Hawaii destination! Nā Pali Coast State Park has one of the most beautiful coastlines of the world. There are gorgeous cliffs with trails that boast incredible views. The green, tropical wildlife combined with bright blue waters are a breathtaking sight.
Antelope Canyon, Arizona
Arizona has some of the most intricate canyons in the world. We believe Antelope Canyon is among the most beautiful places in the US! The canyons are so unique, it looks like you’re walking through an imaginary world.
The Northern Lights, Alaska
This isn’t a particular attraction, but it’s essential for any bucket list. The Northern Lights are incredible to witness. In Alaska, you can rent an adorable igloo to watch them in! This is just one example – there are many other places to witness the Northern Lights in Alaska. The Chena Hot Springs is amazing as well.
Big Sur, California
Big Sur is one of the most beautiful places in California and the entire United States! It boasts a beautiful coastline and is a camping paradise. It also has lovely hiking trails. There are plenty of places to visit in Big Sur – Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park has especially gorgeous views.
Maroon Bells, Colorado
Maroon Bells is one of the most photographed places in the world. Located in Aspen, the famous viewpoint boasts a reflective lake with two giant mountaintops. There are wonderful hikes nearby where you can spot deer, foxes, and other wildlife.
Umpqua Hot Springs, Oregon
This “clothing optional” spring is a beautiful place to relax and take in the view. In the winter, you can gaze into the snow-covered forest while sitting in the toasty hot springs. We completely believe that this is one of the most beautiful places in America.
Hamilton Pool, Texas
This is one of the most famous swimming holes in the USA. If you live anywhere near Texas, a road trip here is a must! The gorgeous view from inside will take your breath away.

Arches National Park, Utah
This national park is filled with over 2,000 natural sandstone arches. The massive Delicate Arch in the east is one of the most photographed arches in the park.
Grand Canyon, Arizona
Although we’ve already shared the gorgeous Havasu Falls that are located in the Grand Canyon, you may not be cut out for an 8-mile hike. Even so, the Grand Canyon itself is an incredible sight and one of the must-see places in the USA.
The Wave, Arizona
This sandstone rock formation is another incredible sight in Arizona. The only drawback is that you need to apply in advance for permits (four months before your desired trip is recommended). Unfortunately, no spontaneous trips can be had here. However, it’s well worth the wait.
Multnomah Falls, Oregon
If you’re anywhere near Portland (another of the must-visit places in the USA), you can take a quick 30-minute drive to the beautiful Multnomah Falls. In addition to the main, two-tiered waterfall, there are 50 more waterfalls to see!
White Mountains, New Hampshire
Autumn in the White Mountains looks like a scene out of a Halloween movie. No matter where you end up in the mountains, the views are incredible. There are plenty of unique ways to see the views including gondolas, cable cars, trains, and observation towers.
Niagara Falls, New York
Odds are, you’ve already heard of this destination. We had to include it in the most beautiful places in the US! A visit to the most powerful waterfall in North America will definitely be worth it. It’s actually a group of three combined waterfalls.
Skagit Valley Tulip Fields, Washington
The Tulip Fields are scattered with gorgeous flowers of every color. They pop up in the Spring and have a month-long festival in April to share the beauty (with exciting events)!
Ocala National Forest, Florida
The Ocala National Forest is a beautiful, unique experience. There are a number of beautiful areas inside the forest to visit. For one, Juniper Springs is a natural wonder with mesmerizing turquoise waters. Alexander Springs is the only one in the forest that allows scuba diving. Although you need to beware of alligators, it’s so beautiful that it might just be worth the risk!
Golden Gate Park, San Francisco
If you ever find yourself in one of the most beautiful cities in the US (San Francisco), Golden Gate Park is full of natural wonders and beautiful sights. There is so much to do in this enormous park! For example, the Conservatory of Flowers or the Japanese Tea Garden are both beautiful. While you’re at it, go see the Golden Gate Bridge too!
Angel Oak, South Carolina
You might think a trip to visit a tree would be silly, but wait until you see the Angel Oak. This massive live oak tree extends over 2,000 square yards. It’s estimated to be 400–500 years old! It looks like it came right out of a Harry Potter movie.
Turnip Rock, Michigan
Turnip Rock is one of the more unusual places to visit in the USA. Even so, it’s a unique sight to behold, especially in the winter when covered in snow. This small geological formation isn’t visited very often as it requires a 7-mile kayak to get there. If you’re up for the task, it’s a beautiful rock.
Central Park, New York City
If you’re more of a city person, New York City has beautiful parks. Central Park is over a mile long and is a safe haven right in the midst of the city. There are plenty more gorgeous parks to visit in the city as well. Even if you’re just taking a trip from New York City and aren’t staying long, Central Park is one of the most beautiful places in the US!
